Nursing home owner charged with Medicaid fraud

POLK COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- The state attorney general's office has accused a nursing home owner of Medicaid fraud

Editha Adranda, the owner of the Loving Heart Home on Daughtery Road in Lakeland, is under arrest. The state also says Andrada used untrained illegal immigrants to care for residents at another facility she owned in Kissimmee.

Also, the state's Elder Affairs Agency says its inspections of Loving Heart found many violations, including:

• Untrained staff
• Out of date food
• Lack of outdoor recreation
• Faked records claiming workers had been tested for tuberculosis

The state has pulled the home's license, but Adranda's husband said the Loving Heart home will get its license reinstated.
